Alex qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and has practised at leading firms in the Midlands and Warwickshire. He deals with commercial and residential property matters including: sale and purchases, commercial leases, development work, refinancing, option agreements and business sales and acquisitions. His clients include developers, companies, investors, banks as well as private individuals. Alex became a partner at BTTJ in 2021.
He has an interest in leasehold enfranchisement cases and works with several surveyors and agents to negotiate and, if need be, prepare a case for the Property Chamber Tribunal. He has a good working knowledge and advises regularly on claims under the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 (as amended) and the Leasehold Reform Act 1967. When acting for investor clients purchasing a mixed use scheme this knowledge can be important in assessing the legal implications of residential leasehold flats in a commercial building.
Alex is also a trained Mediator, which adds to his skill set providing a pragmatic, calm and commercial overview to the issue in hand.
