We are looking to recruit a Legal Cashier on a fixed term maternity cover contract. This role will be based out of our Coventry Office to provide support to the Financial Controller, Partners and internal members of staff to ensure the smooth running of the department and Firm. This will include but will not be limited to the main responsibilities given below.

The Legal Cashier is expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative. We are looking for someone who can come in and hit the ground running, with a good knowledge of cash office / accounts in the legal sector.

Main responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and reconciling client account
  • Expenses
  • Checking and posting of bills
  • Maintaining and reconciling the purchase ledger
  • Write offs
  • Preparation of the vat return
  • Nominal payments
  • Checking and paying search suppliers (Index, One Search and PSG)


Skills, Abilities and Knowledge :

  • Ability to work under pressure, with a high standard of accuracy is essential
  • General understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles, and the associated terminology
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Good understanding of Excel, Word and MS office.
  • Ability to work within the requirement of confidentiality
  • Ability to work effectively and flexibly as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client liaison skills, and a good professional telephone manner
