We are looking for an experienced Financial Director to join our well established and rapidly expanding Firm. The role is available on a full-time permanent basis.

 

Applicants should be qualified accountants (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) preferably with prior experience within professional services. You must be able to quickly establish credibility and be confident to communicate effectively with Partners, fee earners and business service teams, providing collaborative support and constructive challenge as and when appropriate.

Previous experience of leading a finance function, either as a Finance Director or Head of Finance is desirable.

Your duties will include: –

  • To be a key member of the Firm’s Senior Leadership team (SLT) working closely with the SLT members to develop and deliver the Firm’s business plan, advising and guiding the SLT in commercial finance matters.
  • To implement and maintain operational excellence across all finance and accounts processes and compliance with SRA requirements.
  • To be registered as the Firm’s COFA (Compliance Office for Finance and Administration), should have and maintain a good working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Maintaining records of compliance and regulatory breaches and reporting these promptly to the rest of the SLT.
  • Key decision maker in relation to reporting duties.
  • To lead the development of the finance strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate.
  • To provide financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
  • Managing cash flow by monitoring expenditure, supervising billing and credit control,
  • Working Capital control and all bank facilities
  • Managing the renewal process of the Practising Certificates and assisting with renewal of Profession Indemnity Insurance.
  • To be responsible for cash management with the ultimate goal of managing the Firm’s liquidity and mitigating any operational, financial and reputational risk.
  • To improve and automate the Firm’s financial systems and processes to ensure they are efficient robust, compliant supporting current activities and future growth.
  • In addition to having the ability to think strategically, the role-holder must also be willing to roll their sleeves up and get into the detail when needed.
  • Liaising with banks and third-party funders.
  • Supervise and manage cash office staff of 3 reportees.
