Brindley Twist Tafft & James LLP joins forces with MacNamara King Solicitors

1st October 2020

Brindley Twist Tafft & James LLP has acquired the well-known Warwickshire based law firm, MacNamara King Solicitors.

The move is expected to increase turnover levels by more than 20% in the first year and will strengthen BTTJ’s reputation as a leading West Midlands firm of solicitors, expanding the firm’s services across the region.

MacNamara King Solicitors, which has bases in Warwick, Balsall Common and Southam, has been servicing the Warwickshire area for around 15 years. The firm offers services in conveyancing, wills & probate, commercial, commercial property, family, and motoring offences.

MacNamara King Solicitors’ clients throughout Warwickshire will now be able to take advantage of BTTJ’s industry-leading expertise in corporate law, specialist medical negligence, personal injury, dispute resolution, employment, and notary services. The combined talent will also allow the business to diversify into new areas.

The acquisition will see all offices remain open and increase BTTJ’s workforce to 70, whilst an estimated five job opportunities will emerge in the first year.

The deal, which was completed during lockdown, has been welcomed by Samantha Wright, Senior Partner of BTTJ and Siobhan MacNamara, Senior Partner of MacNamara King Solicitors, who said a restructure within the business has allowed the firms to join forces for the benefit of both firms’ clients.

Samantha Wright said: “This is a major development for BTTJ, and we look forward to expanding our capacity and capabilities as well as extending our range of services and introducing our specialist expertise across all offices through this acquisition.

The past few months have not been without challenges for both firms, but even in these difficult times, BTTJ and MacNamara King have been committed to moving forward with their expansion plans, all while adapting to new ways of working for the benefit of both clients and employees.

We have remained open throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure consistency of service to our clients adhering to safe practice by arranging to either hold meetings remotely or via Zoom. It has worked extremely well, and we will continue to operate in a safe and socially distanced way for the protection of both our staff and clients both in Coventry and at all of our new sites.”

MacNamara King Senior Partner, Siobhan MacNamara, joins BTTJ as a Consultant and MacNamara King will be incorporated into BTTJ, taking the number of offices across Coventry and Warwickshire to four.

Samantha Wright added: “This acquisition opens up a host of opportunities for both firms and its clients. MacNamara King is a well-respected and established business, housing a great deal of talent. We look forward to welcoming every member of the workforce to our team and growing the business in the years to come.”
