Kerry Hudson

Kerry qualified as a Solicitor in 2005, progressing to Partner in the law firm she undertook her training contract with. Having a background in litigation and personal injury, before establishing a practice in employment alongside it, due to a high level of clients seeking advice in this area.  She was a Partner in the firm she qualified in, before moving to specialise in Brain injury personal injury cases, which after a relatively short period of time extended to once more dealing with the whole plethora of injury claim and employment.

She undertook predominantly Personal Injury and Employment work together with a case load of civil litigation matters.  This has given her a strong background in litigation and has represented regularly clients in the County Court’s and Employment Tribunals.

Kerry has previously specialised in serious personal injury claims and in particular brain injuries and brings with her many years of experience of dealing with all types of personal injury claims including criminal injury claims.

She now undertakes personal injury work and employment,  for both employees and employers - the two  areas often crossing over and with being one of the few lawyers working across these two areas, gives me a unique insight in remedies, rights and tactical approaches.  

Kerry represents both employees and employers on all employment and HR issues, including settlement agreements, redundancies, grievances, unfair dismissal and discrimination, restrictive covenants and regularly offers general HR and employment advice on an ad hoc basis when needed.  In addition, Kerry is pleased to assist in the preparation of employment documents such as contracts of employment and staff handbooks.

Kerry spends 50% of her working time dealing with personal injury matters and 50% of her working time dealing with Employment Law issues for both employees and employers.

• Claim against a manufacturer for design failure which led to significant injury

• Claim for a passenger injured in RTA, damages secured for £1.6 million
  Claim against employer for failures to institute safe working practices which led to a fatality

• Successfully defending claim in the ET against an employer who brought claim for detriment from whistleblowing disclosure
