Adam Lloyd

Solicitor, Medical Negligence

Adam qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and since then has spent all his time specialising in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence.

He has been a solicitor at firms of small and medium size. He started at a small firm with two partners specialising in personal injury work where he handled cases as diverse as accidents abroad including those while travelling on aeroplanes and cruise ships to serious workplace injuries. While there he branched out into clinical negligence work. Following on from that role, Adam joined a medium sized multi discipline firm in Leamington Spa where he specialised in personal injury, professional negligence and clinical negligence.

He joined BTTJ as a Solicitor in our Medical Negligence Department in March 2022 and is based at our Coventry office and spends 100% of his working time dealing with Medical Negligence matters.

Notable successes

  • RTA for a pedestrian struck by a car when a nurse suffered a traumatic below knee amputation of her leg.  I obtained £million +  compensation to allow her and her son to have the accommodation adaptations and care package to meet their drastically changed circumstances.

  • Pursued multiple cases against the disgraced and subsequently jailed breast surgeon Ian Paterson as part of a Group Litigation.  Sadly some on behalf of families who had lost loved ones because of his unnecessary and unapproved procedures on cancer patients.

  • Six figure payout for a family who lost a wife and mother as a result of her GP’s failure to recognise she was seriously unwell and required immediate admission to hospital resulting in her avoidable death from a pulmonary embolism.

  • Active Memberships: Member of The Law Society and The Warwickshire Law Society

  • Professional Admissions: Solicitor of the High Court of England and Wales (SRA ID 419149)

  • Postnominals: LLB (Hons) PG Dip

  • Academic History: LLB (hons) – history degree at Cardiff University graduated in 1998

About Adam

I am a member of the RSPB and have enjoyed birdwatching for many years.  Unfortunately, my most often spotted is still “a little brown bird”.

My favourite holiday location and where I spend as many weekends as possible is North Norfolk.  Walking on the coast is wonderful and when I don’t have a pair of binoculars in my hand you may find me bobbing in the waves, swimming in the sea.  In Norfolk it does not matter how hot the weather, the water is absolutely freezing.

I listen to classical music and opera. I regularly attend the CBSO at the Symphony Hall and other orchestras at local classical music events.

My favourite book is “My Early Life” by Winston Churchill, great ending.
