SFE campaign highlights incapacity crisis
4th July 2018
SFE, a national and independent organisation which provides specialist legal advice for older and vulnerable people along with their carers and families, have highlighted some worrying statistics in their latest media campaign.
They have found that 97% of people are leaving health and welfare decisions to chance and 70% would like a family member to make medical and care decisions on their behalf in the event of mental incapacity – something that will not happen if they do not have a Health and Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney in place.
SFE have made a video that highlights the importance of not leaving your health and medical wishes to chance.
They have also produced a white paper which you can access here.
If you have any questions about Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA), please talk to us. Our private client solicitor Jill Bowler is a full accredited member of SFE.
